This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Define and uphold cohesive, high-fidelity visual styles and artistic direction across all game assets and disciplines.
β’ Offer high-level creative guidance and leadership across teams including Environment, Tech Art, Outsourcing, VFX, Tech Animation, Animation, Lighting, Characters, UI/UX, and Concept Art.
β’ Collaborate with the Chief Creative Officer, Design Leads, and Engineering to align creative vision with gameplay and technical objectives.
β’ Oversee, mentor, and guide art leads and individual artists.
β’ Assess and enhance art production pipelines and workflows to boost efficiency, performance, and asset quality.
β’ Supervise external art outsourcing partners and asset leads to ensure visual consistency and high standards of visual fidelity.
β’ Set art benchmarks, visual target renders, and style guides for both internal and external development.
β’ Review and critique real-time lighting, shaders, environments, character models, animations, and visual effects within the engine.
β’ Engage in hiring, staffing plan evaluations, and resource allocation across Art and Animation departments.
β’ Over 10 years of professional experience in video game art production, with at least 5 years in Art Director roles.
β’ Multiple shipped titles on console and PC in the capacity of Art Director.
β’ Proven history of leading multidisciplinary teams of artists in areas such as characters, environments, lighting, animation, and VFX.
β’ Expert knowledge of 3D modeling, sculpting, texturing, animation, lighting, and real-time engine workflows.
β’ Proficient in ZBrush, Maya, 3ds Max, Substance Painter, Photoshop, and Unreal Engine.
β’ Demonstrated skill in creating and optimizing art pipelines for high-fidelity real-time rendering.
β’ Experience directing persistent world or live-service visual content and world building.
β’ Strong portfolio/ArtStation showcasing exceptional visual benchmark creation, character/environment design, and creative vision.
β’ Collaborative leadership experience in cross-functional team environments.
β’ Passionate about mentoring and nurturing artist talent.
β’ Resourceful and hands-on approach to solving artistic and technical pipeline challenges.
