Area Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Supervise the overall performance of restaurants within a designated area, typically comprising 5–12 locations.

• Direct operational efforts, local marketing strategies, and the recruitment, development, and coaching of restaurant managers.

• Offer support on guest experience, culinary operations, labor scheduling, inventory management, restaurant marketing, and financial performance.

• Strategize, communicate, and assign responsibilities throughout the area.

• Execute company initiatives in collaboration with Regional Directors of Operations and the Regional Support Team.

• Create and implement both short-term and long-term marketing strategies while executing local restaurant marketing efforts.

• Analyze area operations and reports to pinpoint issues and opportunities, followed by implementing solutions.

• Manage area financial performance by monitoring expenses against the budget, analyzing variances, and taking corrective actions as necessary.

• Ensure adherence to Noodles & Company operational policies and procedures.

• Formulate succession plans, evaluate internal talent, and spearhead recruitment initiatives.

• Mentor restaurant managers, providing feedback and assessing their performance.

• Establish personal development objectives with restaurant managers.

• Cultivate a positive team culture by acknowledging individual and restaurant achievements.

• Guide managers in recruitment, development, performance management, and employee retention.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least five years of relevant restaurant experience, demonstrating strong performance in single-unit operations and some experience in leading multi-unit initiatives.

• Proven ability to deliver results through effective leadership and management of teams.

• Strong leadership capabilities with the aptitude to coach and mentor restaurant managers.

• Experience in delegation, holding team members accountable, business planning, and effective communication across a wide network of restaurant managers.

• Excellent time management skills.

• Proficiency in hiring, staffing, training, and ongoing management of a diverse restaurant workforce.

• Ability to manage and handle confidential and sensitive information effectively.

• Clear and effective communicator with strong presentation skills.

• Knowledge of relevant restaurant regulatory areas, including employee safety, food safety, HAACP, wage & hour regulations, immigration laws, etc.

• Capacity to exercise independent judgment.

• Must hold and maintain a valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.

• Candidates should either reside locally or be willing to relocate to Des Moines, Iowa.

• Travel may be required up to 75% of the time.
