Area Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee revenue ranging from $10M to $15M within a designated geographical area

• Supervise Operations Managers and On-Site Coordinators

• Ensure that transportation services not only meet but surpass customer expectations while achieving financial targets

• Track customer service performance and address issues with swift resolutions and action plans

• Ensure that Operations Managers engage with clients and complete all necessary visit documentation

• Conduct quarterly meetings with customers to evaluate service

• Monitor company KPIs and customer metrics

• Lead the implementation of new business initiatives as required

• Oversee recruitment efforts and the availability of courier resources

• Review Courier Job Acceptance Logs

• Ensure independent contractors comply with contractual obligations

• Aim for gross margins to exceed budgeted objectives

• Review and authorize driver-pay activities

• Identify and implement opportunities for margin improvement

• Develop and mentor direct reports through training and experiential learning

• Evaluate the activities and effectiveness of Operations Managers

⛳️ Requirements

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the transportation field

• Strong computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and database software

• Capability to work remotely with travel required throughout the assigned area

• Willingness to work additional hours to manage operational challenges when necessary

• Must maintain a valid driver's license and possess a clean, functional vehicle

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally

• Skilled at establishing trust and credibility within the organization

• Proactive and resourceful, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Proven quantitative and analytical skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills for engaging with drivers and customers

• Understanding of the independent contractor relationship is essential

• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is preferred

• An Associate's or Bachelor's degree is preferred
