This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa, +1 more state.
• Oversee all elements of the designated sales territory, which includes product launches, sales activities, achieving territory objectives, and catering to customer needs.
• Deliver outstanding value and service by utilizing authorized marketing and corporate resources to assist providers in identifying and initiating appropriate patients for therapy.
• Achieve results and surpass targets through effective territory business planning and implementation.
• Embody Acadia’s culture, mission, and values in all activities.
• Cultivate robust relationships with healthcare provider customers, key opinion leaders, and pertinent stakeholders.
• Identify and address customer issues, ensuring timely resolution of problems.
• Assess sales potential and carry out territory activities, such as calls, reach, frequency, business meals, and speaker programs, adhering to budgets and policy guidelines while tracking ROI.
• Collaborate effectively with sales management, regional and area colleagues, and cross-functional teams, including patient access, market access, patient advocacy, sales operations, sales training, and marketing.
• Participate in local and national patient/caregiver advocacy events, conferences, and training sessions, which may occasionally require weekend work.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of neuroscience and Acadia’s products while staying informed about local and regional market trends.
• Offer insights on pricing and reimbursement, and work with cross-functional teams to address reimbursement inquiries.
• Adhere to all regulations, executing responsibilities with professionalism and accountability.
• Seek leadership opportunities and focus on personal growth and development.
• Travel up to 80% of the time and work after hours as necessary due to travel schedules or business requirements.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required, with a strong preference for candidates who have studied life sciences.
• For Area Business Manager: Minimum of 3 years in pharmaceutical sales, including at least 1 year focused on specialty sales, particularly in rare diseases.
• For Sr. Area Business Manager: 8 years of pharmaceutical sales experience, with 5 years in specialty sales, emphasizing rare diseases.
• Preferred experience in specialty sales, notably in rare diseases, CNS/neurology, or pediatric neurology, along with knowledge of specialty distribution and access.
• Strong advanced selling and dialogue skills, with the capacity to build relationships with KOLs, Centers of Excellence, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Proven ability to work across different functions to develop and implement actionable business plans that ensure patient access to therapy.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a self-driven and proactive approach.
• Candidates must reside within the territory, possess a valid driver’s license, and be willing to travel frequently, including overnight stays and air travel.
• Must maintain good standing with the FDA and OIG.
• Capability to drive extensively and remain eligible for a company-provided vehicle.
• Must live within 30 miles of the required territory cities and, depending on geographic considerations, within a reasonable distance of a major airport.
• Ability to independently travel by airplane as needed.
