Area Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Gather and evaluate financial data to create journal entries and document business transactions.

• Generate monthly and quarterly operational performance reports.

• Support the Area Controller with internal controls, adherence to company policies, Sarbanes-Oxley regulations, and statutory obligations.

• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and statistical data while analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP and company policies.

• Aid in the management of accounting personnel and provide guidance to various accounting functional areas.

• Assist with the annual budgeting and interim forecasting processes, along with conducting analytical reviews.

• Facilitate accounting aspects of capital expenditures, transfers, and asset retirements.

• Participate in periodic internal audits, external audits, and peer evaluations.

• Address information requests from corporate departments, regional management, and area financial management.

• Perform additional job-related tasks as assigned or necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in accounting.

• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Proficiency in MS Excel at an intermediate level.

• Initiative to investigate and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.

• Effective and professional interpersonal communication skills across various organizational levels and with external customers and vendors.

• Strong analytical abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks effectively and meet deadlines.

• Ability to complete projects and assignments with minimal supervision.

• Strong organizational skills and the capacity to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work cooperatively and efficiently within a team setting.

• Familiarity with general ledger software and other industry-standard applications.

• Experience with Oracle accounting software and other industry-standard programs.
