This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Act as the primary advocate and geographic lead for the designated region.
• Define the strategic direction for AbbVie’s market access goals and manage regional initiatives.
• Serve as the main point of contact for high-profile clients.
• Formulate and execute localized market access strategies and influence mapping.
• Identify key access influencers such as PBMs, employers, payers, IDNs, health systems, aggregators, and VMFs.
• Customize engagement strategies to enhance market access for essential brands.
• Partner with the Area Access Director regarding direct Area customer contracts and contract execution.
• Sustain customer relationships and oversee daily interactions.
• Recognize and address customer challenges, communicating essential updates or escalations.
• Collaborate with internal teams including Centers of Excellence, Area Directors, Area Strategists, FRMs, MOSLs, and Patient Support Services.
• Spot regional growth prospects and initiatives to broaden access and strengthen customer connections.
• Keep an eye on industry trends and competitor movements.
• Track and report on key performance metrics.
• Utilize data analytics tools like MABI to evaluate contract efficiency and enhance performance and execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or a similar discipline.
• Over 5 years of experience in sales management; District Manager or Regional Manager experience preferred.
• Experience in account management and/or marketing within the healthcare sector or a related field.
• At least 2 years of account management experience in a Group Practice, Payor, or Institutional setting is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a large, intricate geography and influence a variety of stakeholders.
• Proven skills in contract negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and achieving commercial success.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and coordination abilities for leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.
• Possession of a valid driver's license.
• Capability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and fulfill safe driving criteria.
• Ability to operate a personal vehicle, company car or truck, or powered material handling equipment.
• Must reside within the region, preferably close to a major airport.
• Willingness to travel to on-site customer locations within the region and to AbbVie's Chicago headquarters 3–4 times.
• An advanced degree such as an MBA or MPH is preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of regional payer landscapes, healthcare regulations, and primary customer types is preferred.
• Familiarity with data analytics and strategic decision-making tools is preferred.
