Architectural Draftsmen

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Create precise, high-quality architectural drawings and documentation throughout all residential building phases, from concept and tendering to building approval and construction.

• Develop architectural drawings adhering to Australian building standards for council approval and construction.

• Prepare and oversee comprehensive residential documentation, including site plans, earthworks, retaining walls, floor plans, roof designs, elevations, sections, schedules, facades, kitchens, bathrooms, slabs, electrical layouts, landscape designs, structural details, stormwater systems, and 3D models.

• Conduct material takeoffs for entire projects based on finalized designs and material selections.

• Identify cost-effective material options.

• Collaborate virtually with site managers, project managers, and contract administrators to provide design advice and update drawings.

• Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, track project progress, and mitigate deadline risks.

• Generate working drawings and construction documentation from sketches and concept plans through tendering, contracting, DA, building approval, and construction phases.

• Modify plans and update documentation for approved variations and project alterations.

• Coordinate with councils, certifiers, planners, engineers, surveyors, and external consultants.

• Manage building approval processes and respond to regulatory requirements.

• Maintain construction details, detail registries, master drawings, facades, and ArchiCAD documentation and library structures.

• Ensure designs are safe, feasible, and compliant with building codes, regulations, and legal standards.

• Implement quality assurance processes and checklists.

• Review documentation, resolve discrepancies, and escalate risks to management.

• Enhance drafting systems, processes, and production standards in collaboration with the Design and Drafting Manager.

• Assist CRM with the creation and navigation of 3D walkthroughs.

• Stay updated on construction practices, materials, industry trends, and relevant standards through ongoing training and professional development.

• Adhere to company values, procedures, and quality standards while performing other reasonably required duties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Candidates must be based in the Philippines.

• A minimum of 3 years of drafting experience in Australian residential high-rise (4–6 storey), commercial, and/or hotel/luxury boutique accommodation; experience in Queensland is strongly preferred.

• Proven experience working with Australian businesses or clients; evidence of previous involvement in the Australian building sector is required.

• Proficiency in ArchiCAD or a similar architectural program that provides detailed architectural drawings.

• Strong commercial experience in Australia/Queensland.

• Significant experience in producing architectural working drawings and construction documentation; previous work examples are necessary for consideration.

• In-depth knowledge of residential construction methods, materials, and detailing.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify drafting and compliance issues.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a remote setting.

• Independent contractor engagement is required.

• Must disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work.
