Arborist Trainee – Climber

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Vermont.

📋 Description

• Manually clear vegetation from designated work areas

• Utilize pesticides as required

• Operate forestry equipment safely, including skidders, mowers, chainsaws, and ATVs

• Conduct utility line clearance, including pruning and removals

• Work off-road along utility rights-of-way to manage and remove vegetation that protects the power grid

• Acquire skills in felling, climbing, rigging, equipment usage, and vegetation management

• Engage in paid, hands-on on-the-job training and educational programs

⛳️ Requirements

• No prior experience in the tree industry is required

• Availability to work 45 hours per week

• Must be at least 18 years old

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent qualification

• Possession of a current and valid driver's license with dependable transportation

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions

• Physical capability to walk on uneven terrain and lift up to 75 lbs.

• Willingness to work at different heights

• Eagerness and ability to learn how to operate a bucket truck and use equipment safely

• Willingness to obtain and maintain a CDL A or B license

• Commitment to acquiring and maintaining required licenses and certifications

• Successful passing of a post-offer physical examination and drug screening

• Successful completion of a background check and motor vehicle record review
