This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Direct and provide strategic as well as operational leadership for the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable departments.

• Oversee team performance, manage workloads, ensure process execution, and promote personnel development.

• Create, implement, and continuously enhance scalable processes and procedures for AR and AP.

• Develop and uphold SOX-compliant internal controls and ensure proper segregation of duties.

• Lead the AR/AP initiatives for the planned ledger migration and business integration, which includes process evaluation, data and transaction migration, system testing, reconciliation, cutover planning, and post-migration stabilization.

• Manage AR/AP activities related to business growth, system implementations, organizational changes, and transformation projects.

• Assess workflows and enhance efficiency, automation, standardization, and control effectiveness.

• Provide guidance on cash collection, aging of accounts receivable, bad debt/AFDA processes, customer account resolutions, and enhancements in working capital.

• Supervise invoice processing, vendor management, payment procedures, accruals, reconciliations, and resolution of issues.

• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance, Operations, Procurement, IT, and other functional teams.

• Set AR/AP performance metrics and reporting mechanisms.

• Assist with timely month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Act as a primary contact for both internal and external auditors.

• Build and nurture a high-performing team through coaching, talent development, accountability, and succession planning.

• Recognize and utilize automation and system functionalities.

• Identify operational and control risks and implement remediation strategies.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• A minimum of 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, with extensive involvement in both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.

• Public accounting experience is preferred, particularly with a background in transitioning to or working within a complex corporate accounting environment.

• Proven experience in leading and developing accounting teams, ideally with oversight of multiple functions.

• Strong knowledge of SOX, internal controls, segregation of duties, and GAAP.

• Demonstrated capability in designing and implementing accounting processes and controls in a dynamic or evolving organization.

• Experience in supporting or leading ERP implementations, system conversions, ledger migrations, or business integrations.

• Comprehensive understanding of AR and AP processes, encompassing cash collections, aging management, vendor payables, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end closing.

• Exceptional organizational skills with a proven track record of managing multiple priorities and adhering to critical deadlines.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes and execute sustainable solutions.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of effectively engaging with accounting professionals, business leaders, and senior management.

• Proven ability to guide teams through changes, process transformations, and organizational growth.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and experience with ERP/accounting systems.

• Preferred: Experience in a public company or in a highly regulated financial reporting environment.

• Preferred: Experience with large-company SOX control frameworks.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Vantagepoint, Costpoint, or other Deltek ERP systems.

• Preferred: Experience leading accounting processes during M&A integration, business expansion, or ledger migration.

• Preferred: Background in supporting government and/or commercial contracting environments.

• Preferred: Experience working with internal and external auditors and addressing control findings or audit inquiries.
