This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +16 more states.
• Create hierarchical forecasts pertaining to the housing market across various regional levels.
• Determine economic and demographic factors influencing housing market growth within different regions.
• Extract features that are predictive of housing market trends for the upcoming 1 to 2 years.
• Work collaboratively with engineering teams to implement models into production settings.
• Assist in the production of monthly forecasts.
• Present forecast performance and housing market perspectives to business partners and senior management.
• Develop scenario models that encompass a broad spectrum of housing market outcomes.
• Play a role in a company-wide stress-testing framework.
• Conduct independent research and utilize research methodologies to address real-world challenges.
• Strong interest and comprehension of the housing market and its influencing economic factors.
• Experience with time series, panel data, and hierarchical forecasting methods.
• Solid foundation in traditional econometric approaches as well as contemporary machine learning techniques.
• Expertise in data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering specifically for time series data.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets.
• Familiarity with distributed computing frameworks like Spark.
• Capable of designing and executing model evaluation and validation techniques, including cross-validation and backtesting.
• Knowledge of time series forecasting accuracy and performance metrics.
• Proficient in cloud-based platforms and tools for the deployment and monitoring of machine learning models.
• Skilled in creating AI agents to streamline manual tasks.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrable experience in time series/spatial forecasting.
• Master’s or PhD degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Econometrics, Physics, Earth Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
