Applied AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Develop product features powered by AI that are embedded within actual insurance workflows.

• Create and enhance interactions based on LLMs across both customer-facing and internal systems.

• Formulate prompts, reasoning pathways, and structured AI outputs for operational use cases.

• Assess model efficacy using real-world data, feedback mechanisms, and experimental approaches.

• Enhance the dependability of AI outputs through safety measures, fallback strategies, and validation layers.

• Collaborate closely with backend engineers to embed AI functionalities within APIs and workflows.

• Design and execute automation features driven by AI, including chat, recommendations, and decision support.

• Examine user interactions and model outputs to continually enhance AI performance.

• Work in partnership with product, design, and engineering teams to deliver comprehensive AI features.

• Play a role in decision-making regarding AI system design with an emphasis on usability and real-world effects.

• Solid software engineering expertise in production settings.

• Familiarity with working on LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, or open-source variants).

• Knowledge of prompt engineering, structured outputs, and tool utilization patterns.

• Experience in developing or incorporating AI functionalities into tangible products.

• Strong grasp of API-driven system integration.

• Capability to critically assess AI outputs utilizing data and user insights.

• Experience with experimental design, A/B testing, or evaluation methodologies.

• A keen product sense with a strong emphasis on user experience.

• Comfortable operating in a dynamic, globally distributed team environment.
