Applications Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Maintain a high level of expertise in Starline products and their applications.

• Design system layouts for open channel busway systems utilizing site surveys, customer drawings, project tenders, and field feedback.

• Use AutoCAD for tasks related to mechanical and electrical layout and design.

• Create and manage technical documentation, which includes catalog sheets, FAQs, technical briefs, reports, and installation instructions.

• Provide both technical and commercial support to sales teams and customers, either onsite or remotely.

• Assist with product estimation, RFQs, ratings, regulatory compliance, safety, customization, troubleshooting, installation, and pricing.

• Lead technical strategies that align with customer requirements and business goals.

• Promote continuous improvement in engineering processes, tools, and documentation standards.

• Engage in customer meetings and present product solutions and project updates.

• Prepare technical offers for busway products and verify application requirements.

• Validate technical specifications such as operating temperature, power, installation parameters, materials, and quantities.

• Provide support for project management throughout the sales cycle.

• Mentor junior engineers and aid in team development and knowledge sharing.

• Conduct onsite audits, troubleshooting, and rework as necessary.

• Act as a technical liaison for the sales team.

• Deliver training on busway products to sales networks, customers, and installation contractors.

• Assist the Service Group with project management during installation processes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (Electrical preferred), or a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in electrical or mechanical engineering.

• Required experience with busbar/busduct systems.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and technical writing.

• Willingness to travel up to 25%, primarily within Europe, with potential for international travel.

• Strong capability in electrical product design and application for power distribution and busway systems.

• Working knowledge of power metering solutions and related protocols.

• Familiarity with IEC standards and certifications.

• Ability to sit for extended periods.

• Capacity to lift and carry up to 22kg occasionally.

• Occasional exposure to manufacturing and construction environments; personal protective equipment may be necessary.
