Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Configure and manage AWS-based monitoring and logging tools, which include CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and AWS Config.

• Integrate AWS monitoring with external tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, New Relic, and Grafana.

• Establish alerts, dashboards, and escalation workflows within AWS and hybrid environments.

• Support AWS IAM administration, cost monitoring, and fundamental security configuration under the guidance of Engineering/DevOps.

• Conduct active monitoring and alert triage until further staffing is in place for this function.

• Develop run books and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for incident management.

• Collaborate with Engineering and DevOps teams to incorporate monitoring hooks during service launches and infrastructure updates.

• Work together with the CISO and CCO to ensure that monitoring practices and access controls align with security and compliance mandates.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in Application Support or Systems Support roles, ideally in early-stage or high-growth settings.

• Hands-on experience with AWS monitoring, logging, and IAM management.

• Familiarity with system monitoring tools and workflows; experience in establishing and maintaining alerting systems.

• Strong understanding of incident management and user access provisioning.

• Excellent customer service skills along with strong written and verbal communication abilities.

• Experience delivering Level 2 support directly to SaaS clients.

• Proven capability to work independently, make decisions, and create repeatable processes with minimal guidance.

• Experience operating within compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001) in cloud environments.

• Familiarity with compliance-oriented IT practices, endpoint management, and incident/change management tools like ServiceNow is advantageous.

• Ability to work according to West Coast hours is a plus.

• AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner (Foundation) is a plus.
