Application Backend Engineer – Remote, Mexico

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Develop new functionalities leveraging Yelp's Service Oriented Architecture.

• Rapidly iterate by applying Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment methodologies.

• Clearly define a technical vision and bring it to fruition.

• Provide mentorship to fellow engineers and share acquired skills.

• Collaborate with team members and engineers across the organization to design sophisticated systems.

• Partner closely with mobile and web application developers to enhance Yelp websites and mobile applications with local business data and user-generated content.

• Take initiative and lead projects from the outset.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of relevant experience in the industry.

• Strong grasp of and enthusiasm for elegant API design.

• Proven experience in at least one server-side programming language.

• Familiarity with Python as a backend programming language.

• Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture.

• Capability to implement Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices.

• Enthusiasm for scalability, reliability, and performance challenges.

• Commitment to developing and enhancing software libraries, frameworks, or platforms.

• All verbal and written communication for this position will be conducted in English.
