This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Design, configure, and enhance business process workflows utilizing Appian Designer.
• Collaborate with business product owners, operations leaders, technology teams, and risk partners to gather requirements, map processes, define user needs, and prioritize enhancements.
• Take ownership of and manage product backlog items, which include user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, process flows, UI concepts, test scenarios, and release-ready requirements.
• Facilitate stakeholder working sessions to delineate current-state and future-state workflows, identify friction points, iterate on MVP designs, address issues, and ensure alignment.
• Assess opportunities to leverage shared capabilities across workflows and business sectors.
• Utilize AI-assisted and agentic AI tools for discovery, process analysis, documentation, prototyping, testing, defect analysis, and communication.
• Implement design thinking, analytics, business process engineering, and user feedback into product decisions and ongoing improvements.
• Assist with QA, UAT, regression testing, production validation, defect documentation, and ensuring release readiness.
• Collaborate with technology teams on integrations, data dependencies, security, platform constraints, and production support.
• Stay updated on Appian capabilities and propose responsible applications of new features.
• Advocate for Appian governance, reusability, modular design, versioning, packaging, maintainability, and controlled delivery.
• Engage in agile ceremonies, including standups, planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Create and manage Appian reports and dashboards to monitor workflow performance, user activity, operational quality, and business metrics.
• Comply with risk and regulatory standards, policies, controls, and escalation protocols.
• Uphold internal control standards and implement solutions for audit and regulatory issues.

• Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in business, analytics, technical, digital product, transformation, or product ownership; alternatively, a combined minimum of 14 years’ higher education and/or relevant work experience, including at least 10 years’ relevant experience.
• Practical experience with Appian, encompassing the building, configuring, testing, or support of workflows, forms, interfaces, records, process models, reports, dashboards, or related Appian components.
• Background in financial services and/or fintech, with exposure to regulated business processes and associated domains.
• Experience as a product owner, product analyst, business analyst, transformation lead, or workflow designer in an agile or iterative delivery context.
• Proficient in writing user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, process flows, business rules, UI concepts, testing scenarios, or release documentation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Familiarity with QA, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, test case development, production validation, or other quality assurance practices.
• Working knowledge of AI-assisted tools or concepts related to agentic AI and responsible AI usage.
• Capability to bridge business and technical teams while articulating constraints, risks, dependencies, and tradeoffs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a dynamic, regulated transformation environment.
• Appian Level 1 certification or higher, or equivalent hands-on experience with Appian Designer (preferred).
• Familiarity with SAIL expressions (preferred).
• Understanding of Appian reusability, versioning, packaging, release management, performance, and governance (preferred).
• Experience with Appian AI, Case Management Studio, RPA, data fabric, connected systems, integrations, or document management workflows (preferred).
• Experience with agentic AI or AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Open Claw, or Hermes (preferred).
• Background with other low-code/no-code platforms (preferred).
• Strong comprehension of process mapping, process engineering, service design, user journey design, and operational improvement methods (preferred).
• Experience in developing or launching digital capabilities in financial services or related domains (preferred).
• Collaboration experience with UX, design, data, architecture, cybersecurity, risk, legal, compliance, or operations teams (preferred).
• Knowledge of Agile, Lean, design thinking, systems thinking, and continuous improvement principles (preferred).
