Apparel & General Merchandise Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France, +4 more countries.

📋 Description

• Conduct research to gather insights on how various sectors, including apparel, consumer electronics, toys, furniture, and cosmetics, implement GS1 standards and pinpoint potential opportunities.

• Organize and facilitate working groups with GS1 Member Organizations.

• Gather and document existing best practices from the GS1 federation across different marketplaces.

• Create and distribute relevant materials throughout the GS1 federation, encompassing regulatory issues associated with GS1 standards.

• Oversee significant projects, which include formulating value propositions and conducting training sessions.

• Define and supervise the creation of deliverables, such as pitch presentations and pilot toolkits.

• Track media, blogs, and forums to discern questions and trends regarding data management, compliance, and supply chain transformation.

• Identify and communicate opportunities or challenges related to new applications of GS1 standards and services.

• Cultivate expertise on key industry players that are pertinent to GS1 standards.

• Assist training and marketing teams by providing global best practices and sector-specific recommendations.

• Collaborate with a globally distributed, diverse team.


⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's or master's degree.

• 3-8 years of experience in supply chain, sourcing, ESG, or data management within an apparel and general merchandise brand, retailer, solution provider, or manufacturer.

• Experience in online B2B sales or consulting in this field will be advantageous.

• Proven project management experience.

• Experience in market research is a plus.

• Proven ability to produce materials such as pitch decks, white papers, etc.

• Familiarity with technology and the software development lifecycle, including APIs, product architecture and infrastructure, large data sets, and back-end web development, is a plus.

• Understanding of regulatory compliance matters, including the Ecodesign for Sustainable Product Regulation and other sustainability frameworks affecting the sector.

• Must possess fluency in English, both spoken and written.

• Strong organizational, analytical, verbal, and written communication abilities.

• Capability to manage multiple projects at the same time.

• Excellent time management skills and the flexibility to accommodate commitments across various time zones.
