This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance RESTful APIs along with backend integration components.
• Design middleware workflows, interface connectors, and layers for system integration.
• Implement secure authentication processes, including OAuth2, SAML, and token-based frameworks.
• Facilitate data ingestion, transformation, and exchange across various enterprise systems.
• Troubleshoot integration challenges, log errors, and resolve cross-application communication failures.
• Assist in the implementation of API versioning strategies, schema modifications, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure that secure coding practices for APIs and integration align with DoD cybersecurity standards.
• Collaborate with architects on data mapping, schema modeling, and defining contracts.
• Engage in code reviews, documentation assessments, and integration design discussions.
• Support automated testing of APIs and integration endpoints.
• Maintain documentation for APIs, interface specifications, and technical integration assets.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and assist in refining user stories related to integration.
• Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance, backed by a Tier 5 background investigation.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• At least 6 years of experience in API development, system integration engineering, or backend development.
• Proven experience in designing and supporting REST APIs and backend integration services.
• Familiarity with identity and authentication systems is essential.
• Experience in troubleshooting cross-system integrations and backend data flows.
• Background in secure enterprise or federal environments is required.
• Proficiency in developing and consuming REST APIs is necessary.
• Knowledge of authentication and authorization protocols, including OAuth2, JWT, and SAML.
• Familiarity with middleware, integration platforms, and service-to-service communication.
• Understanding of secure coding practices and DoD cybersecurity expectations.
• Experience with version control systems (Git), API documentation tools, and CI/CD workflows.
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.
• Experience with GraphQL or event-driven integration patterns is preferred.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud API services or cloud integration pipelines is preferred.
• Knowledge of microservices, container-based deployment, and service mesh architectures is preferred.
• ITIL v4 Foundation certification is preferred.
• AWS Developer or Architect certification is preferred.
• Certifications specifically related to integration engineering or APIs are preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills for addressing complex integration and data flow challenges.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation abilities.
• Capacity to interpret business requirements and convert them into technical integration solutions.
• High attention to detail and a commitment to secure and maintainable integration design.
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective cross-team collaboration and coordination.
