API Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.

📋 Description

• Evaluate business and technical needs to establish API integration solutions.

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Software Developers, QA Engineers, and business stakeholders to collect API requirements.

• Create documentation for API specifications, workflows, request/response models, and technical prerequisites.

• Participate in API design reviews to guarantee scalability, performance, security, and maintainability.

• Conduct API testing utilizing tools like Postman, Swagger, or equivalent platforms.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for third-party integrations.

• Collaborate with QA teams to verify API functionality during software releases.

• Help identify opportunities for enhancing API standards, governance, and development methodologies.

• Ensure adherence of APIs to company security, authentication, and data privacy policies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• 2 to 5 years of experience in APIs, software integrations, or technical business analysis.

• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON.

• Capability to convert technical concepts into language accessible to business stakeholders.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Basic familiarity with SQL and relational databases.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

• Experience with GraphQL APIs.

• Knowledge of API gateways and integration platforms.

• Experience in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud microservices architecture.
