Ansible Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and execute an automation strategy for the organization's IT systems utilizing Ansible.

• Create Ansible playbooks, establish Ansible Tower, and integrate Ansible with additional tools and platforms.

• Oversee the configuration of servers, networks, and software across the organization.

• Ensure that configurations adhere to organizational standards and policies.

• Automate the deployment of software across multiple environments.

• Incorporate Ansible into the software development and deployment lifecycle in collaboration with development teams.

• Diagnose and resolve issues within the Ansible environment and automated tasks.

• Provide technical assistance to IT staff and end users.

• Confirm that Ansible usage and managed configurations align with security policies and applicable regulations.

• Automate security functions, including patch deployment and system hardening.

• Document Ansible configurations, playbooks, and procedures thoroughly.

• Compile regular reports concerning system performance, availability, and compliance.

• Educate and guide IT staff on Ansible and principles of IT automation.

• Advocate for automation throughout the organization.

• Participate in an on-call rotation and travel as required.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the IT field.

• At least 3 years of experience managing Ansible environments.

• Profound understanding of Ansible, including playbooks, roles, and Ansible Tower.

• Knowledge of Linux system administration, shell scripting, networking, and security.

• Experience with other configuration management or IT automation tools is an advantage.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to detail, and strong communication abilities.

• Capability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

• Depending on the role and location, ability to operate in a data center environment and manage heavy equipment.

• Readiness to participate in an on-call rotation.

• Openness to travel as necessary.

• RHCE or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation certification is highly preferred.
