Animation Engineer – Expert, Principal

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Conduct research, design, prototype, and implement innovative animation features in collaboration with animators and fellow engineers.

• Consistently enhance character fidelity and realism while managing increasing scale and complexity.

• Create and refine workflows to efficiently develop, enhance, and troubleshoot animation behaviors.

• Offer support and proactively engage with team members at Activision studios worldwide.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of professional programming experience, specializing in skeletal animation.

• Expertise in C/C++ within multithreaded environments.

• A strong passion for pushing the boundaries of high-fidelity interactive animation in AAA gaming.

• Solid understanding of 3D mathematics and linear algebra.

• Experience working directly with low-level game animation systems.

• Good knowledge of inverse kinematics, blend trees, ragdolls, state machines, and secondary motion techniques.

• Strong capability and willingness to take on leadership roles within projects.

• Ability to engage in multiple technology threads alongside various teams.

• Credited on three or more AAA game titles for PC or consoles.

• Familiarity with content creation tools such as Maya.
