Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate advanced product features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, which include streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failures.

• Analyze and enhance application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Execute telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product enhancement.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system behaviors.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and adhere to Google Play Store release standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-powered features such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into live applications.

• Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid background in working with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Proven ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that accommodate latency, network disruptions, and dynamic model outputs.

• Excellent debugging, memory management, and performance profiling abilities.

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks such as MLKit and TensorFlow Lite.

• A history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
