Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Integrate advanced product features, such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations, through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, which include streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failures.

• Analyze and enhance app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product improvements.

• Collaborate with ML and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system functionalities.

• Maintain production quality, app security, and compliance with Google Play Store release criteria.

• Take ownership of the native client experience for intelligent, data-driven mobile functionalities.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Android development with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience integrating AI-driven features such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into production applications.

• Strong proficiency in asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Extensive experience with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Proven ability to create resilient mobile interfaces that manage latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Excellent debugging, memory management, and performance profiling abilities.

• Familiarity with on-device ML frameworks like MLKit and TensorFlow Lite.

• A history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
