Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate intelligent product functionalities such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience patterns for real-time interactions, including streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failure states.

• Analyze and optimize application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model evaluation and product development.

• Collaborate with machine learning and backend engineering teams to establish API contracts, protocols, and system behaviors.

• Maintain production quality, application security, and comply with Google Play Store release standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional Android development experience with Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience integrating AI-driven features such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into production applications.

• Strong expertise in asynchronous programming using Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid background with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Capability to create resilient mobile interfaces considering latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Proficient debugging, memory management, and performance profiling skills.

• Familiarity with on-device machine learning frameworks like MLKit and TensorFlow Lite.

• Proven history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
