Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Develop and sustain high-performance native Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Incorporate advanced features such as chat, vision, voice, and recommendations through backend APIs.

• Design user experience frameworks for real-time interactions, streaming responses, progress indicators, retries, and handling partial failures.

• Analyze and enhance application performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency.

• Implement telemetry, logging, and feedback mechanisms for ongoing model assessment and product improvement.

• Collaborate with machine learning and backend engineering teams to establish API agreements, protocols, and system behaviors.

• Ensure production quality, application security, and adherence to Google Play Store release requirements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in Android development using Kotlin.

• Hands-on experience in integrating AI-driven functionalities such as LLMs, vision, or speech APIs into production applications.

• Expertise in Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Solid background with REST or gRPC APIs and structured data formats.

• Capability to create resilient mobile interfaces that cope with latency, network instability, and dynamic model responses.

• Strong skills in debugging, memory management, and performance profiling.

• Familiarity with on-device machine learning frameworks like MLKit or TensorFlow Lite.

• Proven history of publishing and maintaining production applications on the Google Play Store.
