Android Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain high-performing Android applications utilizing Kotlin.

• Craft and execute user interfaces with Jetpack Compose or XML-based frameworks.

• Integrate RESTful APIs through Retrofit and oversee data flow management.

• Apply asynchronous programming techniques with Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Handle local data storage using the Room database.

• Ensure code quality and version control through Git.

• Engage in cross-functional mobile development teams.

• Work alongside product, design, and backend teams to convert requirements into technical specifications and deliverables.

• Perform code reviews.

• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of development processes and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in Android development with Kotlin.

• Experience with Jetpack Compose or XML-based UI frameworks.

• Familiarity with REST API integration using Retrofit.

• Knowledge of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.

• Experience with Room database for local data storage.

• Proficient in Git version control.

• Availability to work based on Eastern Time hours.

• Preferred experience in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) development, especially for hardware integrations.

• Preferred knowledge of implementing Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notification systems.

• Preferred proficiency in Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) tools, including Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar platforms.
