Android Developer – 3-Months Contractual

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Create and develop sophisticated applications for the Android platform.

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to outline, design, and launch new features.

• Integrate with external data sources and APIs.

• Conduct unit testing on code to ensure robustness, including edge cases, usability, and overall reliability.

• Address bugs and enhance application performance.

• Continuously explore, assess, and implement new technologies to optimize development efficiency.

• Perform upgrades and maintenance while modifying existing software to boost performance, rectify errors, and adapt to new hardware.

• Advise clients on software upgrades for programs and systems as needed, analyzing software requirements and user needs to determine the feasibility of the system design within time and budget constraints.

• Collaborate with engineers, programmers, systems analysts, and others on projects, gathering information on project capabilities, limitations, interfaces, and performance requirements to develop optimal software.

• Design, develop, and adjust software systems using mathematical models and scientific analysis to predict and measure potential outcomes.

• Store, retrieve, and manipulate data to gain insights into system capabilities and requirements.

• Oversee software system testing, validation procedures, application, and system documentation and programming to ensure normal program operation.

• Manage the work of technologists, programmers, technicians, and other related team members, providing guidance on software code writing as necessary.

• Coordinate software installation and monitor equipment to ensure specifications are met.

• Oversee core application features, including services, networking, and database management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.

• 2-3 years of experience in Android App Development or as a Mobile App Developer.

• Ability to comprehend business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

• Strong understanding of Google’s Android design principles and guidelines.

• Familiarity with emerging mobile technologies.

• Knowledge of Android development tools and paradigms, including Android Studio, Gradle, User Interface Layout, Fragment Usage, intents, and general lifecycle management.

• Strong skills in Kotlin, including new language features and object-oriented design patterns for optimal application in Android environments.

• Comprehensive knowledge of Android platform SDKs along with commonly used third-party and open-source libraries.

• Experience in creating clients for REST APIs and an understanding of best practices for interacting with remote services, including a general end-to-end comprehension of modern connected application architectures and implementations.

• Ability to troubleshoot issues that arise in backend and embedded contexts, focusing particularly on the robustness and performance of the overall system.

• Experience in supporting application designers, ensuring a productive pipeline for content creators from initial design phases through to the integration of production assets and interactions.

• Experience with the evaluation and integration of internal, third-party, and open-source technologies to address complex problems in a customer-focused manner.

• Familiarity with common development tools (Git, Jira, Confluence, etc.) and experience with standard development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.).

• Understanding of the design and analysis of computer algorithms and data structures.
