This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Conduct thorough investigations of individual incidents and requests from start to finish utilizing raw production data and systems to identify root causes and suggest resolutions.
β’ Develop and sustain metrics that assess system health and performance over time, employing statistical techniques.
β’ Generate clear and informative reports for stakeholders.
β’ Play a role in enhancing the team's fundamental framework and tools to facilitate more consistent investigation and measurement processes.
β’ Function autonomously on unclear, partially defined challenges.
β’ Recognize and partner with data science, engineering, and trading associates when issues span across team boundaries.
β’ Engage with real-time, event-driven data to reconstruct and elucidate system behavior during live events.
β’ Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field.
β’ At least 4 years of professional experience in software engineering, including work with production systems.
β’ A minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing Python for tasks such as data extraction, manipulation, and analysis.
β’ At least 1 year of experience with Rust in a production setting.
β’ Proven experience in developing and maintaining software that operates in production environments with real-world data, rather than merely creating prototypes, one-off scripts, or notebook analyses.
β’ Proficient SQL skills and hands-on experience with raw/source data such as logs, event streams, and production tables.
β’ Experience tackling open-ended problems with minimal initial guidance.
β’ Strong statistical and quantitative reasoning abilities.
β’ Familiarity with event-driven or real-time data systems is preferred.
β’ Experience in analytics engineering, applied statistics, or a hybrid role that combines data and software skills is preferred.
β’ Familiarity with sports, sports betting, or trading concepts is advantageous but not mandatory.
