Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable data pipelines, integrations, views, tables, and analytical data models.

• Create dimensional models and semantic layers that provide consistent and reliable sources of truth.

• Develop reusable analytical solutions that facilitate reporting, forecasting, and operational decision-making.

• Transition manual or ad-hoc reporting into sustainable, automated solutions.

• Document models, transformations, metric definitions, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.

• Act as a key analytical partner to executive and operational stakeholders.

• Convert unclear business questions into analytical requirements and technical solutions.

• Manage stakeholder expectations from requirements gathering through to delivery, interpretation, follow-up, and continuous support.

• Design and sustain executive-facing dashboards and reporting tools.

• Develop reports for KPIs, trends, exceptions, and business outcomes.

• Create forecasting, scenario-planning, statistical, and predictive models.

• Assess forecast accuracy and improve methodologies.

• Perform exploratory analysis to uncover trends, root causes, risks, and opportunities.

• Validate data and address data quality, pipeline, modeling, and reporting challenges.

• Set up monitoring and controls for dependable, timely analytical products.

• Present findings, forecasts, risks, recommendations, and limitations to both executive and operational audiences.

• Translate technical concepts into easily understandable business language.

• Collaborate with Business Intelligence, operations, functional teams, data engineering resources, and external vendors.

• Provide support and mentorship to team members on SQL, data modeling, dashboard design, analytical methods, validation, and stakeholder communication.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in analytics engineering, business intelligence, data engineering, advanced analytics, or a related field.

• Proficient in SQL, including complex transformations, window functions, performance tuning, data validation, and reusable analytical models.

• Proven experience in building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and integrations.

• Experience in developing executive and operational dashboards, as well as business intelligence products.

• Familiarity with dimensional modeling, data warehousing, semantic layers, metadata, data lineage, and governed metric definitions.

• Capability to independently manage an analytical domain or stakeholder relationship from requirements through delivery and ongoing support.

• Skilled in translating vague business questions into structured analytical methodologies and actionable solutions.

• Strong analytical judgment, problem-solving capabilities, intellectual curiosity, and meticulous attention to detail.

• Ability to communicate technical insights and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Capacity to work autonomously, prioritize competing tasks, and drive projects to completion without constant supervision.

• A combination of education and relevant experience will also be considered.

• Preferred: experience with Snowflake or a similar cloud data platform.

• Preferred: familiarity with Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, dbt, Python, or similar data integration technologies.

• Preferred: experience with Tableau or comparable business intelligence tools.

• Preferred: proficiency in Python or another analytical programming language.

• Preferred: experience in forecasting, scenario modeling, statistical analysis, or predictive modeling.

• Preferred: knowledge of student information systems, CRM platforms, ERP systems, or higher education data.

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
