This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Review and assess new business and/or renewal submissions for compliance with company standards.
• Negotiate terms and conditions of coverage.
• Provide quotes and finalize policies accurately and in a timely manner.
• Collect and maintain well-organized, complete underwriting documentation.
• Ensure adherence to state regulations and surplus lines requirements.
• Cultivate relationships with agents, internal teams, carriers, and external partners to pinpoint profitable growth opportunities.
• Attain production objectives by creating a profitable portfolio and increasing the number of active policies and premiums.
• Convey clear and concise information to stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
• Investigate agency, carrier, and market data to facilitate informed decision-making.
• Respond to inquiries within established service level standards and offer underwriting expertise.
• Inform agencies about available carriers and products, and provide guidance or referrals for opportunities beyond the primary focus area.
• Comply with service level agreements and brokerage process protocols.
• Align individual tasks with the broader priorities of the team and business unit.
• Active P&C and Surplus Lines licenses (or the ability to obtain them within 45 days).
• Capability to identify, assess, analyze, and propose solutions to insurance needs.
• Knowledge of and compliance with state-specific laws regarding brokerage, along with relevant insurance laws and regulations.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to engage, influence, and negotiate with both internal and external business partners.
• Willingness to learn job-related software applications.
• Proficiency in product knowledge, functional and technical skills, consultation abilities, interpersonal skills, negotiation techniques, problem-solving, results orientation, work management, and decision-making quality.
• Flexibility and adaptability to evolving situations.
• A minimum of 2 years of relevant insurance experience is preferred; an undergraduate degree may be considered in lieu of experience.
• Preferred educational background in business, risk management, or a related field.
• Experience in Commercial Lines insurance is preferred.
• Professional designations such as CIC, CPCU, or their equivalent are preferred.
