This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +1 more state.
β’ Respond to calls in a professional manner, adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.
β’ Always be ready to take notes during calls.
β’ Familiarize yourself with the specific vocabulary relevant to the industry, particularly in healthcare and medical contexts.
β’ Accurately and completely convey all messages, ensuring no additions, omissions, or substitutions.
β’ Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpreting process.
β’ Facilitate communication between individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing and the Client by providing accurate and complete interpretations.
β’ Adhere to established standards of practice.
β’ Participate in internal professional training sessions.
β’ Demonstrate a willingness to pursue new professional certifications.
β’ Communicate and report to your team leader effectively.
β’ Follow dress code requirements for video remote interpreting.
β’ Proficient in both ASL and English.
β’ At least 1 year of experience with ASL VRS in a reputable interpretation company.
β’ Strong knowledge of medical terminology.
β’ Awareness of legal terminology is advantageous.
β’ International certifications in the healthcare sector are a bonus (e.g., HIPAA).
β’ ASL Language Certificate, RID, or BEI is mandatory.
β’ High school diploma in your native language.
β’ Possess high emotional intelligence and cultural tolerance.
β’ Exhibit strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention skills.
β’ Have a solid understanding of Deaf culture.
β’ Fully remote position with a well-defined schedule.
