Ambulatory Access Optimization Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +14 more states.

📋 Description

• Act as the primary operational liaison for designated specialties, facilitating the optimization of scheduling workflows and promoting the use of Epic tools.

• Spearhead the implementation and ongoing maintenance of access standards by aligning scheduling practices with both enterprise strategies and specialty requirements.

• Identify and address operational challenges such as template inefficiencies, held time, and inconsistencies in visit types through collaboration with clinical and design teams.

• Deliver targeted education and training to specialty leadership and frontline staff regarding scheduling tools, workflows, and best practices.

• Track key performance indicators, including held time, block release rates, self-scheduling penetration, and denial rates; proactively escalate any identified gaps.

• Support change management initiatives to ensure the successful adoption and long-term sustainability of scheduling enhancements.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic scheduling tools, effectively integrating them into daily operations.

• Facilitate the cleanup and optimization of visit types, including configurations for Fast Pass and self-scheduling.

• Promote consistency and minimize variation in scheduling practices across departments to uphold governance and enhance patient access.

• Perform additional duties, engage in special projects, assist team members, and accept alternative assignments as required.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must permanently reside in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, or West Virginia.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Health Information Management, or a related field is required; a combination of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.

• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in EPIC Cadence design, build, and implementation, including provider template optimization, visit types, department, and provider build experience is preferred.

• Project management experience is required.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently.

• Capacity to handle high-stress situations, fluctuating workloads, interruptions, and frequent changes.

• Ability to lift/carry weights of 0–50 lbs.

• Requires manual dexterity and finger dexterity.

• Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, clear speech, legible writing, reading, and logical thinking skills are essential.
