This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +2 more states.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers, practice managers, billing teams, and other stakeholders to facilitate patient access to prescribed therapies and treatment resources.
• Provide education and guidance on access, reimbursement, coverage, and patient support programs.
• Assist in integrating access and reimbursement resources into office workflows and procedures.
• Act as a resource for inquiries regarding product acquisition, ordering, payment, inventory management, and product returns or replacements.
• Navigate challenges related to reimbursement, claims, prior authorization, denials, appeals, and coverage for customer accounts.
• Monitor and communicate changes in payer policies, reimbursement trends, and developments in the healthcare landscape.
• Support the implementation of patient assistance and co-pay programs.
• Collaborate with Patient Support Services and cross-functional teams to resolve access and reimbursement issues, track cases, and provide education.
• Develop and implement account-specific plans for access and reimbursement, encompassing buy-and-bill processes, acquisition pathways, and site-of-care considerations.
• Establish relationships with non-prescribing stakeholders, such as revenue cycle leaders, financial counselors, pharmacists, office administrators, and health system decision-makers.
• Share customer insights, market trends, and access barriers with internal partners.
• Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and requirements for adverse event reporting.
• Represent Novartis with integrity and collaboration as the local market access expert.
• A Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited four-year college or university.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in reimbursement, market access, managed care, clinical support, pharmaceutical sales, or a related healthcare field.
• Experience in supporting specialty pharmacy products through specialty pharmacy networks, distributors, or other specialty access channels.
• Knowledge of coding, billing, claims, reimbursement processes, and office-based patient support programs.
• Proven experience partnering with specialty pharmacies and managing access and reimbursement considerations throughout the patient journey.
• Understanding of buy-and-bill reimbursement pathways, including product acquisition, coverage, and payment processes.
• Experience working with injection networks or provider-administered therapies in physician offices, clinics, or health system settings.
• Candidates must reside within the designated territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 50 miles from the territory border.
• Willingness to travel 60-80% across a broad geography.
• Ability to drive and/or fly within the territory.
• A fully valid and unrestricted driver’s license is required.
• Ability to successfully complete all mandatory initial training, which includes home study of eight (8) or fewer hours per day and forty (40) or fewer hours per week.
