ALC Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, test, and maintain IBM Assembler Language Code (ALC) applications on Z/OS mainframes.

• Execute trial runs, troubleshoot programs, and ensure optimal performance.

• Update existing assembler code to align with new technical or business needs.

• Collaborate closely with systems analysts and other IT personnel to identify and address issues.

• Develop and sustain detailed documentation for program logic, workflows, and modifications.

• Interface with front-end systems and assist in modernization initiatives, including migration to Java or MongoDB.

• Ensure adherence to federal standards, data protection regulations, and agency-specific security measures.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline, or 4 additional years of experience in lieu of a degree.

• 4–8 years of experience with ALC in a mainframe setting.

• Proficient in IBM Job Control Language (JCL), TSO, ISPF, and standard debugging tools.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

• Capable of working independently and effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams.

• Active IRS MBI (Public trust) required.
