This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +41 more states.
• Collaborate with business leaders and cross-functional teams to gain insights into strategic objectives, challenges, customer or employee requirements, and opportunities for workflow innovation.
• Conduct assessments of the current state and design future states for complex workflows that span various teams, applications, channels, data sources, decision-making processes, and controls.
• Create comprehensive systems of work that link experiences to people, processes, technology, data, decision-making, controls, AI agents, and support services.
• Organize workshops and collaborative sessions to guide teams from uncertainty to clear future-state decisions.
• Discover possibilities for AI automation, enhancement, recommendations, decision support, orchestration, or autonomous actions.
• Specify the division of labor between humans and AI, approaches for human-in-the-loop systems, triggers for intervention, confidence levels, approval processes, exceptions, overrides, feedback mechanisms, and requirements for explainability.
• Produce clear, visual, implementation-ready design artifacts and document future-state workflows along with the implications for operating models.
• Identify cross-system requirements, dependencies, ownership issues, handoffs, risks, and unresolved decisions.
• Align business objectives and experience requirements with downstream technology implementations, collaborating with Architecture, Data, Engineering, Governance, BRMs, and business divisions.
• Assist implementation teams and engage in design-assurance checkpoints.
• Identify, develop, and contribute reusable enterprise patterns, components, services, methods, templates, case studies, and lessons learned.
• Serve as a trusted partner in design and transformation for business leaders.
• Help to establish CSAA's Enterprise Systems Design methods, standards, templates, and quality benchmarks.
• Define success metrics, set baselines, gather insights, and communicate impact through case studies and executive storytelling.
• Influence company culture through employee resource groups, mentoring, volunteer work, and cross-functional initiatives.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Over 10 years of diverse experience in systems design, service design, workflow/process transformation, design strategy, digital transformation, product/service innovation, management consulting, or product management.
• In-depth knowledge of systems thinking, service design, and workflow design.
• Proven ability to translate complex business challenges into cohesive future-state systems.
• Experience leading complex multi-functional projects involving various business units, systems, partners, or technology platforms.
• Proficiency in navigating between front-stage and backstage systems.
• Capability to create and communicate blueprints for systems of work, service blueprints, workflow maps, dependency maps, role and handoff models, decision models, and operating-model designs.
• Strong understanding of AI, including practical knowledge of generative AI, agents, automation, retrieval, decision support, and AI-enabled workflow patterns.
• Familiarity with human-AI interaction and human-in-the-loop design principles.
• Ability to break down complex workflows into tasks, decisions, context, data, knowledge, tools, controls, and exceptions.
• Solid business acumen and the ability to link design choices to measurable business outcomes.
• Experience facilitating workshops for senior-level and multi-functional teams with varying objectives or ownership.
• Excellent visual communication and storytelling abilities.
• Comfort in ambiguous situations and initiatives lacking a single leading function for the overall outcome.
• Skill in influencing without formal authority and guiding groups toward decisions and commitments.
• Ability to work independently on high-profile projects while collaborating within a small, senior team.
• Must be authorized to work indefinitely in the United States.
• Must not require immigration support now or in the future.
• Willingness to travel as necessary for divisional/team meetings and other in-person engagements.
• A Master's degree, relevant certifications or training, experience in regulated industries, AI workflow redesign expertise, service design or business-process transformation experience, collaboration in enterprise architecture, familiarity with reusable enterprise patterns, experience with design systems, transformation methodology experience, prototyping or pilot design experience, and coaching experience are all considered as factors that would make the employer enthusiastic about a candidate.
