AI Software Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Italy, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design, prototype, develop, and maintain full-stack applications, predominantly utilizing TypeScript, Node.js, and React.

• Collaborate with the Chief AI Officer, internal users, product managers, designers, and engineers to identify challenges, test concepts, and provide valuable tools through short iterations.

• Leverage AI coding tools and agent workflows to enhance implementation, debugging, and testing processes.

• Take ownership of code quality, correctness, and maintainability.

• Integrate and sustain robust connections with third-party APIs and services.

• Engage in code reviews, architectural decisions, and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Transition successful prototypes into reliable everyday applications with appropriate testing, performance metrics, security measures, and error handling.

• Implement strong UX, visual, and technical design standards throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Develop internal tools, automate workflows, and create customer-facing products and features.

• Incorporate LLMs and other AI functionalities where they address real user needs.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience as a Software Engineer.

• Practical experience with AI coding assistants and agents as an integral part of the development workflow, including task definition, context provision, coordination of local or cloud-based coding workflows, and review and validation of generated code.

• Working knowledge of integrating LLM APIs and AI services into applications, with the capability to learn orchestration and evaluation tools as necessary.

• Strong background in back-end development using Node.js or a comparable JavaScript runtime.

• Experience in building front-end applications with React or a similar framework.

• Ability to work flexibly across backend languages and tools as required.

• Comprehensive understanding of RESTful API design, OAuth, and integration of third-party APIs.

• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.

• Comfortable navigating ambiguous requirements and engaging in practical experimentation.

• Experience with TDD/BDD and creating test suites using tools such as Jest or Cypress (desirable).

• Familiarity with agile methodologies and DevOps best practices (desirable).

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, particularly GitLab CI/CD (desirable).

• Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS (desirable).
