AI Research Intern

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Collaborate with actual, proprietary clinical data from hospital and clinic partners to derive insights that influence model and product development.

• Develop clinical reasoning models that enhance workflows for physicians and clinics.

• Create and publish benchmarks that highlight the shortcomings of current LLMs in real clinical reasoning scenarios.

• Assess computer-use models on practical tasks.

• Manage the training and evaluation pipeline from start to finish.

• Tackle open-ended problems, transforming them from questions to functioning models, with minimal predefined guidelines.

• Document findings as technical reports and research papers.

• Proven research experience; capable of defining problems rather than merely executing known solutions.

• Experience in training models, not just fine-tuning APIs.

• Proficient in Python.

• Master's degree or higher in Machine Learning or a related discipline.

• Driven by open-ended challenges and uncertainty.

• Aiming to publish findings, not just deliver products.

• Willingness to take initiative without needing guidance.

• A genuine preference for working in a startup environment over large tech companies.

• Previous experience as a founder or founding engineer (preferred).

• Strong sense of product quality (preferred).

• Familiarity with healthcare datasets (preferred).

• Background in developing LLM-powered products (preferred).

• Aspirations to eventually start your own company (preferred).

• Eligibility to work in the United States or mention of need for United States visa sponsorship in the application.
