Intern – Gen AI Research Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform both primary and secondary research on cutting-edge and emerging healthcare informatics technologies, with an emphasis on Generative AI and upcoming Artificial General Intelligence applications for healthcare treatment, payment, and operational scenarios.

• Produce research papers, analytical reports, proposals, and educational materials.

• Sustain a thorough understanding of technology trends and possess hands-on experience with relevant technologies.

• Design generative AI models, architectures, databases, and systems aimed at enhancing healthcare solutions.

• Aid in the development and enhancement of LLMs and ML tools utilized throughout the organization.

• Contribute to the formulation and ongoing management of an Artificial Intelligence Governance Program.

• Relay technology-related updates and requirements to other departments and play a role in presentations for senior management.

• Collaborate with research and development teams, product management, and strategic analysts on various projects.

• Partner with Business Units to deliver reliable intelligence, validated technology options, and insights regarding enterprise and industry trends.

• Assist technology project teams by coordinating tasks, managing daily operations, and aiding in solution delivery.

• Support academic research teams, practicums, internships, and vendor proof of concepts.

• Facilitate vendor evaluations and partnerships.

• Act as a liaison with academic institutions, professional organizations, and research groups.

• Contribute to Academic Corporate Engagement initiatives to nurture research and educational talent.

• Fulfill internship program responsibilities, objectives, special projects, and assigned tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an advanced degree program in healthcare, technology, or a related discipline, such as Biomedical Informatics or Computer Science; PhD is preferred.

• Proven interest or experience in AI, healthcare technology, or informatics research.

• Strong foundational understanding of generative AI model development, architectures, and vector databases.

• Practical experience with Machine Learning and Deep Learning models.

• Familiarity with LLM/RAG models and LLM fine-tuning is an advantage.

• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud services.

• Experience managing large data sets and constructing data pipelines for ML solutions.

• Knowledge of vector embeddings and databases is a plus.

• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

• Must be able to ensure a dedicated, secure work environment.

• Must provide high-speed internet access/connectivity and maintain an office setup.

• Must be capable of performing duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
