AI Product Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Design and develop products and features driven by Artificial Intelligence.

• Convert business requirements into solutions utilizing LLMs, agents, automations, and workflows.

• Create end-to-end applications, which may include frontend development, backend, integrations, data persistence, infrastructure, and the AI layer.

• Build prototypes and advance them into robust production-ready solutions.

• Collaborate with product, engineering, and business teams to discover opportunities for AI implementation.

• Design and execute AI agents, multi-agent structures, handoffs, coordination, context, memory, state, validation, fallback, and recovery processes.

• Develop agentic workflows and loops for planning, execution, evaluation, correction, retries, timeouts, and error management.

• Construct prompts and context engineering strategies, structured outputs, schema validation, and mechanisms to reduce hallucinations.

• Create tools for agents and integrate models with REST APIs, GraphQL, databases, enterprise systems, and SaaS solutions.

• Build RAG solutions involving ingestion, chunking, indexing, retrieval, embeddings, semantic search, vector databases, and source traceability.

• Generate datasets, metrics, automated evaluations, LLM-as-a-Judge systems, and failure analysis protocols.

• Host and manage AI applications on AWS, including Lambda and serverless setups.

• Work with API Gateway, S3, CloudWatch, IAM, SQS, EventBridge, DynamoDB, and RDS.

• Organize CI/CD pipelines, Git version control, deployments, Docker, and containerization processes.

• Implement tracing, logging, metrics, alerts, and monitoring for prompts, responses, tools, latency, errors, and tokens.

• Define scalable, secure, reliable, observable, and event-driven architectures.

• Develop APIs and services for workflow execution and orchestration.

• Ensure code quality through testing, code reviews, and adherence to best practices.

• Enforce security measures, including least privilege, defenses against prompt injection, high-risk operation validation, and traceability.

• Engage in the complete product lifecycle, from discovery and experimentation to deployment, operations, and evolution in production.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in software engineering and product development.

• Practical experience in developing applications with LLMs.

• Familiarity with model APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, or similar providers.

• Strong understanding of backend development.

• Proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript.

• Knowledge of REST APIs and system integrations.

• Experience in constructing multi-step workflows.

• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

• Understanding of distributed architectures, asynchronous processing, and event-driven architecture.

• Hands-on experience with AWS.

• Knowledge of AWS Lambda and serverless frameworks.

• Understanding of Docker and containerization principles.

• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment procedures.

• Capability to deploy and maintain applications in production environments.

• Ability to comprehend business needs and translate them into functional products.

• Proficient in systematically troubleshooting issues and adapting to rapidly evolving technologies.

• Practical knowledge of Large Language Models, Prompt Engineering, Context Engineering, AI Agents, Agentic Workflows, Function/Tool Calling, Structured Outputs, RAG, Embeddings, Vector Search, Model Context Protocol, Evaluations, LLM Observability, Guardrails, Human-in-the-loop, context and memory management, model routing, and optimizations for token usage, latency, and cost.

• Preferred qualifications include experience with LangGraph, LangChain, Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, CrewAI, or similar technologies; MCP servers or clients; LLM observability and evaluation platforms; internal tools; AI applied to the development lifecycle; Spec-Driven Development; Infrastructure as Code; ECS, Fargate, or EKS; SQS, SNS, and EventBridge; enterprise environments; Digital Commerce and VTEX; and advanced or fluent English proficiency.
