AI Field Engineer – Enterprise

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Conduct technical discovery calls with clients

• Define the scope for proofs of concept

• Execute load testing and assessments to confirm model architecture and deployment setup

• Develop comprehensive POCs and integrate them into customer environments for production

• Navigate through customer infrastructure, security protocols, and organizational limitations

• Advise customers on model selection, fine-tuning strategies, and evaluation methodologies

• Transition customers from exploring open models to large-scale production

• Oversee relationships with multiple stakeholders within enterprises

• Identify technical champions and ensure stakeholder alignment to facilitate deal progression

• Relay recurring customer challenges and deployment trends back into the product roadmap

• Lead enterprise deals from initial discovery to production deployment

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in client-facing roles related to AI/ML

• Extensive hands-on experience with LLM inference and/or training

• Familiarity with open-model frameworks such as vLLM, SGLang, and TensorRT-LLM

• Experience in LLM fine-tuning; SFT experience is required, with DPO/RFT as a significant advantage

• Experience limited to closed-model/API-wrapper environments will not meet the criteria

• Demonstrated capability to deploy production code within a customer's environment

• Proficient in Python programming

• Background in GPU and cloud infrastructure on platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP

• Comfortable working with Kubernetes

• Possess executive presence and skills in enterprise navigation

• Ability to engage deeply with an ML engineer and communicate trade-offs effectively to a VP on the same day

• Experience in pre-sales or customer-facing field engineering roles, such as FDE, Applied AI Engineer, or Solutions Architect

• Candidates who are purely Software Engineers without customer-facing experience are not suitable
