AI Engineer Technical Mentor – Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North America.

📋 Description

• In your role as a technical mentor, you will engage in three primary activities: conducting 1:1 video calls, facilitating Virtual Technical Deep-Dive Sessions, and leading Group Q&A sessions.

• Offer tailored support by responding to learner inquiries related to course materials and projects.

• For deep-dive discussions, mentors should be equipped with a slide presentation that elaborates on a Nanodegree concept in greater detail.

• Organize regular sessions (via Slack or video) to resolve learner questions concerning projects and coursework.

• Demonstrated technical proficiency with over 5 years of experience in the relevant domain.

• A strong enthusiasm for mentoring and fostering the success of others in their educational journeys.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills. You thrive in building relationships, communicating effectively, and creating a supportive learning atmosphere.

• A comprehensive understanding of the technology sector and emerging trends in AI and related areas.

• The ability to work part-time as an external contractor alongside your existing commitments.

• Essential Technical Skills – Claude AI Engineer: Familiarity with the Anthropic Claude Ecosystem (Claude API, Claude Code, Claude Agent SDK, Model Context Protocol), Agentic AI Development (AI Agents, Multi-Agent Systems, Agent Orchestration, Tool Calling, Workflow Design), Prompt & Context Engineering (Prompt Engineering, Structured Outputs), Programming & APIs (Python, REST APIs, JSON), Software Engineering & Architecture (System Design, API Design), Data & Production AI Systems (SQL, Data Extraction), DevOps & CI/CD (Git, CI/CD Pipelines).
