AI Engineer, Forward Deployed

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and deliver AI solutions for production utilizing Anthropic's Claude platform.

• Create agents, assistants, and knowledge search experiences leveraging the Claude API.

• Develop agentic workflows using the Claude Agent SDK, incorporating multi-step orchestration, subagents, and human-in-the-loop controls.

• Construct and deploy MCP servers that connect Claude to client systems like Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, SharePoint, CRM, and ERP platforms.

• Implement Claude through the Anthropic API, Microsoft Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.

• Draft and refine system prompts, tool definitions, and Agent Skills based on user testing and feedback.

• Configure and launch Claude for Enterprise, including connectors, projects, skills, and administrative controls.

• Utilize Claude Code to expedite delivery and assist client engineering teams in its adoption.

• Develop reusable Skills, plugins, and prompt libraries.

• Create end-to-end RAG pipelines that encompass ingestion, chunking, embedding, vector and hybrid search, and grounding.

• Connect Claude solutions to Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and other enterprise data platforms.

• Integrate Claude solutions with enterprise systems using APIs, Azure Functions, and event-driven architectures.

• Construct evaluation sets and testing frameworks that measure answer quality, groundedness, hallucination rate, safety, latency, and cost.

• Implement logging, monitoring, tracing, and cost control mechanisms for deployed agents.

• Apply security, identity, and data governance measures.

• Employ version control, CI/CD, and code review standards.

• Collaborate directly with client stakeholders to gather requirements, conduct working sessions, showcase progress, and manage expectations.

• Translate business challenges into well-defined AI use cases with measurable success metrics.

• Train client users and engineers and provide support for adoption post-launch.

• Contribute reusable patterns, accelerators, and documentation to Collectiv's AI practice.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• Over 4 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or analytics engineering.

• At least 1 year of hands-on experience in building and deploying generative AI or LLM-powered solutions in production or client environments.

• Practical experience with the Claude API, including tool utilization.

• Experience in building or deploying MCP servers.

• Hands-on familiarity with Claude Code or the Claude Agent SDK.

• Proficient in Python or TypeScript.

• Experience creating RAG solutions, including vector search and document ingestion.

• Experience working in at least one major cloud platform (Azure preferred; AWS or Google Cloud also valued).

• Ability to work independently in a client-facing consulting capacity.

• Preferred: Experience deploying Claude via Microsoft Foundry, Amazon Bedrock, or Google Vertex AI.

• Preferred: Experience rolling out Claude for Enterprise or Claude for Work to business users.

• Preferred: Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Power BI.

• Preferred: Experience with LLMOps practices, including evaluation frameworks, prompt management, and model monitoring.

• Preferred: Knowledge of security, privacy, and compliance considerations for AI in regulated sectors.

• Preferred: Consulting experience across various clients or industries.

• Preferred: Anthropic training or certifications, or relevant Azure certifications.
