AI Engineer – Backend Focus

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany, +2 more countries.

📋 Description

• Assessing, developing, and executing AI solutions within the WBS GRUPPE.

• Creating and implementing maintainable and thoroughly tested backend services along with full-stack applications.

• Crafting business-specific AI applications such as RAG systems, virtual assistants, and generative text processing utilizing existing Large Language Models.

• Employing cutting-edge AI tools to enhance development speed and quality.

• Incorporating existing AI models and services into current systems and workflows.

• Developing data integration solutions to enable continuous, automated data flows.

• Preparing and processing data for AI applications.

• Designing, documenting, and delivering clean APIs.

• Establishing automated tests and CI/CD pipelines.

• Continuously assessing and refining software components and RAG pipelines.

• Contributing to the enhancement of business processes and the attainment of strategic company objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a senior position.

• Advanced proficiency in Python (backend, data engineering, and prototyping) or a similar programming language.

• Familiarity with TypeScript and/or C# is advantageous.

• Practical experience with Clean Code principles, Test-Driven Development, automated testing, and conducting code reviews.

• Strong understanding of RAG pipelines and vector databases.

• Hands-on experience with applications based on LLMs.

• Solid backend fundamentals complemented by basic frontend knowledge (e.g., TypeScript/React).

• Capability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and align solutions with tangible business value.

• Proficient in communicating technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborating efficiently with cross-functional teams.

• German language proficiency at a minimum C1 level, both written and spoken.

• Residency required in Germany, Austria, or Spain exclusively.
