AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Work collaboratively with end users and stakeholders in higher education, extension, and research settings to collect and document both business and technical requirements for AI functionalities.

• Design, develop, test, and sustain AI applications and services utilizing low-code Microsoft tools.

• Incorporate AI capabilities into university systems by leveraging the Microsoft technical stack.

• Create and execute multi-agent architecture components within the Microsoft ecosystem.

• Diagnose, debug, and resolve issues in both custom and third-party applications.

• Monitor system performance and examine logs and metrics.

• Apply necessary fixes as required.

• Ensure secure access patterns, authentication, authorization, and data protection measures for AI applications using Azure.

• Assist a new Iowa State team dedicated to automation and AI innovation.

• Develop applications utilized by faculty, students, and staff throughout the campus.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification.

• Proven experience in designing, developing, and implementing enterprise AI solutions using Microsoft technologies and contemporary cloud platforms.

• Experience in building conversational and autonomous AI agents with Copilot Studio.

• Familiarity with configuring Copilot Studio topics, generative responses, plugins, actions, and knowledge sources.

• Experience in integrating AI solutions with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, including live-agent handoff, case creation, custom connectors, and OAuth-based authentication workflows is highly preferred.

• Proficiency in leveraging Microsoft Azure services and development tools.

• Experience in developing and maintaining intricate Power Automate workflows.

• Experience in implementing telemetry, monitoring, and security controls across Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure, and Power Platform.

• Experience in configuring rate limiting, API protection, and traffic management using Azure Front Door and Azure API Management (APIM).

• Preferred: Bachelor's degree in computer science, data science, computer engineering, mathematics, or a related field with a concentration in Machine Learning or AI.

• Experience in developing and maintaining AI-powered applications using Azure AI services, Azure OpenAI, Microsoft Foundry, and Microsoft Copilot technologies.

• Experience in integrating Copilot Studio agents with backend services utilizing Power Automate, Azure Functions, APIs, and custom connectors in a large higher education institution.

• Experience in creating and managing Microsoft Foundry endpoints for AI models with Entra security for authentication.

• Experience in configuring Power Platform pipelines to oversee solution deployments.

• Experience in designing and implementing API gateways and authentication mechanisms using Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Functions, and Azure Key Vault.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on a continuous basis without sponsorship.
