This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alaska, +13 more states.
• Design and develop agentic AI applications that perform multi-step tasks with clear tool boundaries, permissions, and safety controls.
• Create and sustain RAG solutions from start to finish, encompassing ingestion, embeddings, retrieval, and generation.
• Establish quality metrics for agents and retrieval processes, and refine results based on findings.
• Integrate tools and data sources through MCP or comparable standard interfaces.
• Provide Angular/Node interfaces and APIs for business teams.
• Deploy and manage AI services on AWS, including Lambda and ECS/EKS, ensuring logging, monitoring, error handling, retries, fallbacks, and guardrails are in place.
• Identify repetitive tasks and implement AI-driven workflow automation within enterprise systems and platforms.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation for architectures, interfaces, evaluation methods, and operational runbooks.
• Work collaboratively with product and business stakeholders to convert workflows into tangible deliverables and validate measurable outcomes.
• Offer advisory support to enhance operational efficiency through agentic workflows and RAG-enabled automation.
• Investigate and recommend new AI tools, evaluation methodologies, and responsible AI practices.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related area; equivalent practical experience is acceptable.
• 5–10 years of experience in software engineering.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in developing production-grade Generative AI solutions (agentic applications and/or RAG).
• Practical experience in deploying agentic applications and RAG systems to production, with in-depth knowledge of at least one and a solid understanding of the other.
• Proven experience in building and delivering production services and APIs on AWS.
• Full-stack development experience using Angular and Node/TypeScript.
• Knowledge of CI/CD processes and standard operational practices.
• Advanced proficiency in Python for backend/AI service development.
• Hands-on experience with at least one agent framework, such as LangChain, LangGraph, or CrewAI.
• Design of safe tool calling, including tool boundaries, permissions, and validation measures.
• Understanding of RAG concepts, including chunking, embeddings, retrieval, and basic reranking.
• Experience with at least one vector store, such as OpenSearch, Pinecone, or pgvector.
• Capability to assess and enhance AI systems using practical quality signals and measures of agent task success.
• Familiarity with AWS deployment utilizing serverless and/or container technologies, including logging, monitoring, and alerting.
• Understanding of responsible/secure AI fundamentals, including least privilege, data access controls, and guardrails.
• Proficient in Git-based source control and CI/CD, with reliable release and rollback procedures.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, delivery-focused mindset.
