AI DevOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.

📋 Description

• Design and develop AI-powered GitLab Duo agents that streamline software development processes.

• Create an intake agent that gathers Jira stories and enhances them with context from repositories and documentation.

• Build a specification agent that converts Jira requirements into comprehensive technical specifications, covering affected components, system interfaces, data models, and test cases.

• Develop an implementation agent that sets up development branches, generates code scaffolding, creates initial test cases, runs CI/CD pipelines, and submits merge requests with automated summaries.

• Facilitate bi-directional communication by sending status updates back to Jira.

• Implement governance and security measures, including service accounts, scoped access tokens, protected branches, mandatory code reviews, and comprehensive audit trails.

• Create demonstration scenarios along with technical documentation.

• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions for internal stakeholders.

• Ensure the solution is scalable, maintainable, and appropriate for long-term enterprise use.

• Design and construct a scalable end-to-end agent chain that connects Atlassian Rovo with GitLab Duo.

• Automate the software delivery lifecycle, from requirements gathering and user story creation in Jira to technical specification, code generation, testing, and merge request creation in GitLab.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong proficiency in GitLab, encompassing CI/CD pipelines, GitLab Runners, GitLab APIs, webhooks, and permission/access management models.

• Practical experience with GitLab Duo, including Duo Chat, Code Suggestions, and Agentic/Duo Workflows.

• Experience in integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise workflows.

• In-depth understanding of prompt engineering, context provisioning, tool invocation, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).

• Solid software development experience in at least one of the following: Python, TypeScript, or Java.

• Proven experience in designing secure and scalable automation solutions.

• Seasoned AI DevOps Engineer / GitLab Duo Specialist.

• Capability to develop production-ready, scalable solutions that are suitable for long-term enterprise adoption.
