Agile Team Lead – Public Sector

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Guide an agile team to produce high-quality solutions that cater to client and user requirements.

• Foster a positive, creative, and efficient team environment.

• Empower and assist team members in their performance, learning, and growth.

• Identify and eliminate obstacles while managing risks and issues at the team level.

• Collaborate with Agile Team Leads and stakeholders under the supervision of a Delivery Manager.

• Establish effective workflows for agile planning, forecasting, and product backlog management.

• Lead retrospectives and initiatives for continuous improvement.

• Manage, coach, and develop staff, including overseeing employee performance and improvement plans.

• Provide data, forecasts, and progress reports for planning purposes.

• Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather requirements and create a shared understanding.

• Maintain collaborative relationships with clients, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders.

• Ensure stakeholders receive accurate delivery-status updates and that technical quality standards are upheld.

• Assist the Delivery Manager in achieving project outcomes within budget constraints.

• Contribute to the broader Management capability.


⛳️ Requirements

• Eligibility for UK Security Check (SC) clearance is essential.

• At least 3 years of experience in a similar position, ideally within UK public sector organizations.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivering custom software projects from inception using agile methodologies for external clients.

• Experience in delivering bespoke software as part of an agile team for external customers.

• Must have experience in a client-facing consulting environment.

• Significant experience in customer-facing projects, including syncs, reporting, presentations, board meetings, workshops, and scaling opportunities.

• Strong commercial awareness is required.

• Excellent interpersonal abilities.

• High level of flexibility, including a willingness to work away from the home base.

• Solid understanding of technology, digital services, and current trends.

• Experience with user research, design, and data analytics expertise.

• Commercial awareness in client-supplier and multi-supplier contexts, with an understanding of project-level financials.

• Familiarity with planning and reporting methods typical to project delivery.

• Scrum Master certification or similar Agile delivery certification is preferred.
