Agile Coach – Trainer Level IV

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Conduct interviews, workshops, and observations to assess Agile maturity, Jira Cloud proficiency, and team readiness.

• Provide instructor-led and virtual training on Agile fundamentals for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and users of Jira and Confluence Cloud.

• Guide teams on managing backlogs, ceremonies, prioritization, flow, metrics, and standardized Jira work management practices.

• Customize coaching based on team assessments; offer office hours and reinforcement after training sessions.

• Lead Agile communities of practice and champion sessions; collect feedback to enhance reusable guidance.

• Collaborate with instructional designers and analysts to align training pathways with assessment outcomes and adoption metrics.

• Re-evaluate Agile maturity and Jira Cloud usage through structured interviews, team observations, facilitated workshops, and evidence-based coaching plans.

• Provide tailored coaching for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, team leads, and portfolio stakeholders, with actionable follow-up goals and clear accountability.

• Illustrate Jira boards, epics, stories, sprint and Kanban configurations, dashboards, and reporting methods during hands-on training sessions.

• Assess coaching effectiveness via behavior changes, self-assessments, training feedback, and modifications in team practices.

• Develop reusable facilitation guides and materials for coaching the coach, empowering local champions to reinforce skills after formal training.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in education, organizational development, business administration, information systems, or a related discipline.

• Over 5 years of relevant experience in Agile delivery, coaching, training, or transformation, including at least 3 years in Agile coaching or instruction.

• One of the following or equivalent credentials: ICAgile Certified Professional in Agile Coaching, Authorized Instructor Credential, Certified Scrum Professional, Certified Scrum Trainer, SAFe Practice Consultant, or Release Train Engineer.

• Proficient in Jira Cloud with practical expertise in Scrum and Agile team methodologies.

• Excellent virtual facilitation, coaching, presentation, and stakeholder engagement abilities.

• Capability to obtain and maintain a favorable Public Trust determination and meet applicable federal personnel vetting, security, privacy, accessibility, and data-handling standards.

• Skill in adapting Agile instruction to adult learners with diverse technical backgrounds and facilitating constructive discussions with skeptical, change-resistant, or change-fatigued teams.

• Experience in defining practical metrics for team maturity, coaching progress, and adoption, supported by evidence.

• Prior experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, or federal health programs is highly desirable.

• Proven experience in establishing Agile communities of practice and scaled coaching frameworks.

• Familiarity with Jira Align, Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, or public-sector technology transformation.

• Experience in assessing Agile maturity and training effectiveness.

• Experience in connecting scaled portfolio practices with team-level execution and Jira/Jira Align reporting expectations.

• A Master's degree in organizational development, adult learning, instructional technology, or industrial-organizational psychology is preferred.

• Additional credentials such as ICAgile Agile Team Facilitation or ICAgile Enterprise Agile Coaching are advantageous.

• Atlassian Cloud certifications are beneficial.
