This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Kenya.
β’ Provide overall leadership for the Africa Regional Hub.
β’ Determine regional priorities, allocate resources, and guide program direction.
β’ Ensure coherence and integration across Hub workstreams.
β’ Report on Hub performance, risks, and priorities to organizational leadership and the board.
β’ Define and drive a multi-year regional strategy that aligns with organizational objectives.
β’ Translate global strategy into regional priorities and integrate regional insights into global strategy.
β’ Establish annual workplan priorities and guarantee timely delivery.
β’ Build and lead a cohesive, motivated, and high-performing regional team.
β’ Directly manage regional hub staff and contractors, providing coaching, feedback, and opportunities for professional growth.
β’ Establish roles, workflows, meeting schedules, communication standards, and timekeeping practices.
β’ Foster relationships with Ministries of Education, donors, sector networks, and private-sector partners.
β’ Represent Team4Tech at regional and global events, conferences, and policy forums.
β’ Support negotiations, Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), and partnership agreements.
β’ Oversee NGO cohort training, engagement with Strategic NGOs and Learning Partners, and program delivery milestones.
β’ Set and implement quality standards for program design, facilitation, and materials.
β’ Utilize evidence, data, and monitoring & evaluation findings to inform program decisions, funder reporting, and thought leadership.
β’ Lead special funded initiatives, including multi-country AI capacity development and cascade training projects.
β’ Manage initiative-specific staff, consultants, and country leads according to timelines, budgets, and reporting requirements.
β’ Identify regional research and evidence-building priorities.
β’ Capture and disseminate regional lessons learned throughout the organization.
β’ Author or contribute to publications, reports, and conference presentations.
β’ Enhance Team4Techβs reputation as a resource for African edtech and workforce development.
β’ Amplify the voices of NGO partners and staff in sector discussions.
β’ Advanced degree (Master's or equivalent) in international education, international development, education technology, public policy, business administration, or a related field.
β’ Over 15 years of progressive leadership experience in international development, education, or workforce development programming in sub-Saharan Africa.
β’ Direct experience leading AI for education initiatives in low-resource settings in Africa, including AI training content development or strategic AI advisory projects.
β’ Understanding of Large Language Models (LLMs) and adaptive learning platforms.
β’ Strong regional networks in the international development and education sectors.
β’ Experience managing multi-country or multi-partner programs, ideally involving consortium structures.
β’ Experience designing and overseeing large-scale cascade or trainer-of-trainer program models with Ministries of Education.
β’ Experience representing an organization externally at a senior level.
β’ Ability to use monitoring & evaluation evidence and data to inform strategy and make course corrections.
β’ Proficiency in translating program data and evidence into strategic insights, funder-facing narratives, and sector-level thought leadership.
β’ Strong program and personnel management skills across multiple countries and time zones.
β’ Familiarity with the education, technology skills, artificial intelligence, and/or workforce development sectors in Africa.
β’ In-depth understanding of policy and infrastructure contexts across Africa.
β’ Significant experience in budget and grant management, including donor reporting and financial compliance.
β’ Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Established network of relationships with Ministries of Education, NGOs, donors, and/or private-sector partners in Africa.
β’ Demonstrated ability to build trust and influence across diverse stakeholder groups.
β’ Fluent in spoken and written English.
β’ Willingness and ability to travel periodically, mostly locally and regionally within Africa, approximately 30β35% of the year.
