Advisory Teacher, Elementary

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Missouri.

📋 Description

• Provide guidance to students and families concerning academic matters.

• Counsel students on course withdrawals and schedule modifications in adherence to school policies.

• Evaluate student academic records.

• Execute programs aimed at addressing interpersonal adjustment challenges for students and families.

• Assist families in accessing resources available through the school and community in collaboration with school teams.

• Engage in the development of crisis prevention and management plans and participate as a member of the Student Support Team (SST).

• Collaborate with elementary teachers to identify students who are at risk or experiencing crises.

• Act as the primary contact for identified students and families, maintaining regular communication.

• Participate in Professional Learning Community (PLC) and Grade Level Team (GLT) meetings.

• Ensure all student records are comprehensive and accurate.

• Assist families during the school withdrawal process and aid in the collection of withdrawal data.

• Report and refer critical incidents affecting student well-being in accordance with laws, regulations, and ethical standards.

• Stay informed about state regulations regarding incident reporting and documentation.

• Support teachers with mid-semester student enrollments and their integration into coursework.

• Ensure that previous grades, credits, and evaluations are managed properly.

• Facilitate professional development opportunities for teachers and school staff.

• Assist with tasks related to the school-year cycle.

• Carry out additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a highly qualified and certified Advisory Teacher in Missouri, suitable for the grade level and content area responsibilities.

• Experience with Professional Learning Communities is required.

• Strong technology skills, particularly with Microsoft operating systems and MS Office applications.

• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.

• A customer-centric approach is essential.

• High level of adaptability is needed.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Demonstrated history of being a team player.

• Willingness to travel occasionally for marketing and state testing events, which may involve overnight stays up to two times a year.

• Capability to work remotely when required.

• Availability to work occasional evening hours as necessary to assist families.

• Must possess a personal electronic device and email address for two-step authentication.
