Advisory Teacher

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.

📋 Description

• Assist and inspire students within the Pearson Online Classroom.

• Provide both synchronous instruction and pre-recorded asynchronous lessons.

• Offer intervention, enrichment, personalized support, and tailored instruction.

• Utilize student data and evidence to assess learning requirements and implement Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions.

• Deliver clear, constructive, and consistent feedback on student performance.

• Generate progress reports and facilitate parent conferences.

• Maintain regular communication with parents, students, and educators to develop and revise Personal Learning Plans and schedules.

• Evaluate assessments, oversee assignments, and guide special projects.

• Assist with alternative lessons, assessments, strategies, daily tasks, and projects.

• Foster relationships with students and their families.

• Collaborate with staff and professional learning communities to track progress and make instructional choices.

• Keep accurate student records, cumulative files, attendance logs, and contact records.

• Work with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure that communications, progress, and objectives are addressed.

• Organize and participate in social events, school activities, graduation, and relevant field trips.

• Develop virtual strategies to cultivate and sustain a school community.

• Attend mandatory school and district professional development sessions.

• Engage in the organization and administration of state testing.

• Participate in student recruitment sessions and marketing initiatives.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Valid high school teaching license in Ohio.

• Proficient technology skills, particularly in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.

• Highly organized and punctual.

• Student- and family-centered approach.

• High level of adaptability.

• Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong track record as a collaborative team member.

• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, staff, and diverse community members.

• Willingness to travel for marketing and state testing events, which may include occasional overnight travel.

• Availability to work evening hours as needed.

• Capability to work remotely if required.

• Proficiency in using a personal electronic device and email for two-step authentication.
